Damp Proofing - Case Study

Home Damp Proofing

This is a job that, upon first inspection, had low-level damp issues due to a poor understanding of damp by others. – i.e., modern paints applied both internally and externally, suffocating the entire building, which also had been incorrectly plastered (plaster touching the floor).

However, once we had begun the work, it became apparent that there were, in fact, many further issues. – e.g., the floor, which we had to remove, and a membrane to prevent rising damp. We also had to remove and replace a cupboard housing the electric fuse board and meter due to damp rot.

The electrics then had to be rewired and brought into line with current regulations. Fortunately, Chawley was understanding of the situation and kindly permitted us to carry out these extra works, giving him (and MCR Projects!) peace of mind in his forever home.

Pride in our work. Quality in our finish. Our promise to you.

I can't thank Chris enough!
I can't thank Chris enough!
I can't thank Chris Mitchell at MCR Projects enough for the work he and his team have completed on our home. I couldn't recommend him highly enough to anyone that finds themselves with damp issues in their home. Chris initially came out to our property during the summer (2020) to look at a damp problem we had in our home. His quote (as well as final total costing) felt like really good value and he gave a thorough outline of the work that would need to be undertaken from day one as well as giving us a time frame (Autumn 2020) on when he could schedule the work for.

As the job started it became clear to all the issues with our home ran much deeper than could have been anticipated by anyone. Chris managed to complete the additional work this caused within the same project so that we weren't left without the use of our home for too long. During the time Chris spent in our home he was conscientious of the stress and worry that the damp situation caused myself and my other half and kept us thoroughly updated on the progress of the project through videos and photos. Thanks Chris - good luck with your future projects.
